Changsha, also known as Xingcheng, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, China, and the capital of Hunan Province. Changsha City has a relatively undulating terrain, mainly consisting of mountains, hills, and plains, with the Xiang River passing through the city. Changsha City has a subtropical monsoon climate with distinct four seasons. Spring temperatures vary greatly, with more rainfall in early summer, high temperatures in late autumn, and less severe cold in winter. In the Paleolithic era, there were primitive human activities in the Changsha area. During the Qin Dynasty, Changsha Commandery was established, and the Changsha region was included in the unified national vision. During the Southern Dynasty, Changsha was once known as the 'Xiongjun County within the Sea'.

Changsha is one of the first national historical and cultural cities, which has condensed the Hunan culture of "practical and inclusive". It is not only one of the birthplaces of the late Qing Dynasty's Reform Movement and the old democratic revolution, but also one of the birthplaces of new democracy.

Changsha is the political, economic, cultural, science and education, trade center of Hunan Province, an important node city of the "the Belt and Road" and the central city of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
